🏰 From Fedala to Mohammedia · A Royal Transformation

Originally known as Fedala (a name derived from the Arabic "Feddala" meaning "grace"), the city was a small fishing port during the Portuguese era. In 1913, the French built the port and a refinery, transforming it into an industrial hub. After independence, King Mohammed V renamed the city in his honor and envisioned it as a modern seaside resort. Today, Mohammedia is a unique blend of industrial energy and coastal relaxation — a weekend paradise for Casablancais families.
